    • Agave Solar Plant became operational in 2023 and provides energy to roughly 24,000 Arizonans.

Chiricahua Community Health Center

  • Fast Facts:
    • The Chiricahua Community Health Center represents the largest primary care organization in Southeastern Arizona. From their medical, dental, and pharmacy facilities in Douglas, the organization serves roughly one quarter of the entire population of Cochise County.
    • Chiricahua has partnered with an advanced energy company to develop a 312-panel solar project that will serve their facilities in Douglas, generating enough electricity annually to power 100% of the Center’s demand. The project likewise includes a 500-kilowatt hour energy storage system.
    • By pairing solar and storage, this project will also allow these health facilities to maintain operations even when the grid goes down, as it does frequently. In the first six months of 2024 alone, the grid in Douglas experienced more than ten power outages, with extreme heat and wildfire risk both raising the likelihood of such events and the dangers from them.
    • This project will likewise allow the Health Centers to lock in current power prices for the next 20 years, providing valuable economic security in the face of rising costs.

Goodyear Solar Module Assembly Plant

Flatland Energy Storage Project

  • Fast Facts:
    • Salt River Project and EDP Renewables’ subsidiary, Flatland Storage LLC, are partnering on a major energy project in Arizona. The Flatland Energy Storage Project was announced in 2024 and is scheduled to be completed towards the end of 2025. 
    • The companies invested $271 million, and the project is projected to contribute an additional $7 million in taxes and millions more to local businesses over its lifetime. 
    • The Project will further contribute to the local community by creating 60 construction jobs and two permanent positions. 
    • The facility will help meet rising energy demand by storing 200 megawatts of electricity and powering up to 45,000 homes for four hours during peak demand.

Hashknife Solar Energy Center

    • Invenergy’s Hashknife Solar Energy Center is projected to generate 475 megawatts and store 1,900 megawatt hours of electricity. 
    • The Center will be able to power 150,000 homes and will create 16 permanent jobs. contribute an additional $7 million in taxes and millions more to local businesses over its lifetime. 
    • The project will become operational in 2027. In the meantime, Invenergy has invested $98 million and will create 450 construction jobs in addition to spending a further $53 million on taxes, wages, lease payments, and more.
